LHC Group is a leading national provider of home health and hospice services. Founded in 1994 in the heart of Louisiana, we have grown from a small private company with four employees to a publicly-traded company of more than 7,000 employees, serving more than 80,000 patients annually in 19 states.
Despite the many ways we have grown and changed, at LHC Group, it still is — as it always has been — all about helping people. Our mission is to provide our patients with the highest quality service — helping them recover in a setting that is comfortable and in the care of providers who are committed to excellence. We offer this high quality health care through our home health, hospice, private duty and long term acute care service lines.
A Leader in Quality & Compliance
As a leader in the home health and hospice industry, LHC Group is committed to quality care and compliance. We pride ourselves on being the only national home health provider pursuing 100 percent Joint Commission accreditation. Today, over half of our agencies are Joint Commission accredited, with the remainder scheduled to be surveyed over the next several months. Less than seven percent of all home health providers in the United States are Joint Commission accredited.
In 2009, in partnership with one of the nation’s top healthcare consulting firms, we voluntarily enhanced our compliance program. Our best in class program includes leading practices in healthcare compliance and provides value to our patients, employees and joint venture partners.
Unique Hospital Partnerships
Since 1998, LHC Group has successfully partnered with over 55 hospitals and health systems. These joint venture relationships provide LHC Group with the opportunity to enter the community as a partner with an established local provider and allow our hospital partners to maintain a level of control and involvement in the care their patients receive at home.
Through these partnerships, we have demonstrated a proven ability to seamlessly transition patient care services to the home, while maintaining our hospital partners’ quality standards and overall mission. This results in fewer unnecessary hospital readmissions and improves patient outcomes due to coordinated disease management throughout the care continuum. In addition to quality care, our joint ventures translate to a healthier financial outlook for our hospital partners through more efficient use of healthcare dollars.
Best in Class Employees
In each of our markets, LHC Group recruits and retains caregivers who are committed to our mission of providing exceptional care and unparalleled service to the patients and families we serve.
In order to maintain our talented workforce, we remain committed to the satisfaction of our employees. For the past six years LHC Group has equaled or exceeded the 94th percentile in our annual employee survey conducted by Morehead & Associates. This investment in our employees has resulted in a turnover rate that is among the lowest in the home health industry.
